GELA SOFTWARE
Introduction
The GELA software provides a unique tool in the world designed to calculate operating costs of regular bus transport lines by bus and its optimization. The GELA software incorporates algorithms that have been built based on artificial intelligence techniques. Its use is intended for bodies in charge of the exploitation of the regular transport lines by bus, either concessionary companies or management agencies.
Input data
The minimum initial information is configured by the geometry of a public transport mesh, initial and intermediate stops, the location of garages and the end of lines operating on the network, the start and end schedules of each expedition, and service speed and empty speed for each route. As a result, the procedure must shed the necessary minimum fleet with the minimum possible operating costs, able to complete the service, pointing out the expeditions that each vehicle will take over of, and intermediate empty displacements between routes.
The program stands out for its ease of use.
The mesh is able to export the results of the mesh to CAD format.
The program allows the introduction of different types of buses with different garages.
The introduction of public transport data is done by routes and expeditions.
The program provides different calculation methods and enables the optimization subproblems
The methods employed are:
- Exact calculation by Branch and Bound
- Application of genetic algorithms
- Exact method with solutions field reduction
- Combinatorial optimization
The first three methods incorporate the stop button that allows the calculation to halt the calculation when the user wants, obtaining the optimal management proposal of the calculated lines so far.
Combinatorial optimization method is the fastest.
The program also provides additional methods of optimization and configuration of lines. Fusion and joining lines methods and its combination with the method of combinatorial optimization provide interesting solutions for optimization.
Outputs
The after each calculation, the program provides optimization achieved with the initial and final costs, the bus matrices for route, and the bus expeditions matrices.
The user can generate output reports in pdf or rtf.
The user can export the results mesh to CAD , and even get the location of the bus at a certain time.
